Plan your Visit

Visiting a new church for the first time can be intimidating and confusing. We want you to know you will always be welcomed here, and hope to give you an idea of what to expect when you visit.

Many people don’t attend church because they believe they’re not “good enough.” The truth is, “all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23). We’re definitely not perfect people, we’re just forgiven, thankful and trying to live like our perfect Lord.

We have no formal dress code; we only ask that you dress modestly. You may enter feeling like a stranger, but you will leave feeling like a friend. No one will embarrass you, but everyone will welcome you. You’re welcome to sit wherever you feel comfortable.

We have Bible classes for all ages at 10 AM on Sunday followed by worship at 11. During that time we’ll sing praises to God (Ephesians 5:19), pray (Acts 2:42), observe the Lord’s Supper (1 Corinthians 11:23-29), take a collection from our member (1 Corinthians 16:1-2) and listen to a message from the word of God (Ephesians 4:15).

We also provide free Bibles in a modern, easy to read translation if you don’t already own one. They also include excellent study guides to help new Bible students find their way.

If you need transportation to and/or from worship, let us know in advance. We will be happy to arrange a ride for you. Also, we will gladly answer your questions about the service, the Bible, or God’s will for your life. We promise that Biblical questions will receive Biblical answers. Additionally, we would be happy to arrange an in-person Bible study with you at a time and place of your convenience.

It is our aim to be, “the light of the world” (Matthew 5:15), and we want that light to include you. Come be a part of the great things happening at the South Knoxville Church of Christ!
